This matters more on the commercial side because the volumes are larger. Utah's secured-load law, Utah Code 72-7-410, requires every load to be completely covered from the point of origin to the landfill.
Since January 1, 2026, the Salt Lake Valley Landfill charges an additional fee equal to the disposal price for any vehicle that arrives with an uncovered or unsecured load. On a steady commercial account, an operator who does not tarp reliably is exposing you to doubled disposal costs.
We tarp every load as a matter of course. It is invisible to you when it works, which is the point, and it is built into the rate rather than surfacing as a surprise.
Placement, access and invoicing
Commercial placements have constraints residential ones do not - fire lanes, customer parking, loading bays, sight lines. We will walk the site before the first delivery on any ongoing arrangement and agree a position that works for your operation, your neighbors and our driver.
