How a roll-off delivery works here
The truck reverses to the drop point, the bed tilts, and the container rolls down the rails onto the ground. That is the whole mechanism, and it explains why the approach matters - the truck needs a straight run in and ground that carries the weight of the truck as well as the container.
On a bench lot, grade adds to that. We plank under the rollers and rails and chock so the container sits level on slope and does not roll or shift. Standard on every delivery, no charge.
At collection the process reverses. If the container is loaded above the rim the doors will not close and the load cannot legally be transported, which is why we ask people to load level rather than heaped - and because every load must be tarped for the trip to the landfill.
Matching the container to the site, not just the job
Site constraints override material volume more often than customers expect, and on the bench that is doubly true. A 30 yard needs roughly seventy feet of straight approach; a 10 yard needs about forty-five. If your driveway climbs or curves, the smaller container may be the only workable answer regardless of how much material you have.
Overhead clearance is the constraint people forget. The truck bed rises well above roof height when it tips, so roughly twenty-three feet of clear air is needed. Through Holladay, Millcreek and the tree-shaded bench neighborhoods, mature canopy stops more deliveries than narrow driveways do.

Every load leaves covered
Worth understanding because it is now enforced. Utah's secured-load law requires every load to be completely covered from the point of origin to the landfill, and since January 2026 the Salt Lake Valley Landfill charges an additional fee equal to the disposal price for an uncovered load.
That does not add anything to your bill - we tarp every container we haul as standard. But it is why a professional operator matters: a hauler who does not cover reliably is exposing themselves, and potentially you, to doubled disposal costs.
For clean separated loads the gate rate is lower too, which is why we will always encourage you to keep clean soil, clean green waste and clean masonry separate from general debris.
Rental periods and running over
Seven days comes with the flat rate. Beyond that it is a daily rate, agreed at the start rather than discovered at the end.
Longer arrangements are entirely normal. Custom-home builds, canyon-mouth property projects and estate clearances routinely run several weeks, and we set those up on a daily rate from day one.
If you finish early, call and we will come. There is no penalty for being ahead of schedule.

What does roll-off actually mean?
It describes how the container is delivered: it rolls off the back of a tilting hooklift truck onto the ground rather than being lifted over the side. It is why the approach needs to be straight and reasonably reachable, and why grade matters on bench lots.
What sizes do you carry?
10, 15, 20, 30 and 40 yard. The 20 is the most requested and the 15 is the one we most often recommend instead, because so much of the older bench housing produces dense debris.
Is the load covered for the trip to the landfill?
Yes - we tarp every load. Utah's secured-load law requires it and the landfill penalizes uncovered loads, so covering is built into every haul at no separate charge.
How much notice do you need?
Two to three business days for a guaranteed slot. Same-day is often possible if a run is already heading your way, so it is always worth asking.
